Amateur Hour: A Student-made Live Action Comedic Film

Donation protected
Hey everyone! This is a film that I (Jonah) wrote, that Mya and I want to direct- With your help!

Logline: A grumpy, miserable asshole who goes by the name of 'Mr. Happy' has to retrieve $50,000 from a woman who stole it from him. He employs the help of Lawrence, the kind of guy you would find at a Walgreens to help him. Through distrust and disorder, they must overcome their differences to either retrieve the money, or die trying.

We wanted to make a film that wasn’t just ours, but everyone’s collective effort being show to the best of their abilities. Something we can look back on and be proud of. Being inspired by the fast, sharp dialogue from some of Richard Linklater’s work, we aim to deliver a fun movie-going experience that everyone can enjoy. The easy-going tone and 1970's aesthetic inspired by rock music released around that time will be the central theme and tone for this film, catching audiences’ attention.

At the end of the day, we want to make a shared experience that everyone will look back on and be proud of the work they did so early on in their career. We want to make opportunities for ourselves and show the world that we’re the next generation of filmmakers.

We appreciate the support, and any donation-big or small. Thank you so much, we can't wait to share Amateur Hour with you!
