Help Amarys Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Chelsea and we are raising money to help the Martinez family with Amarys’s battle against cancer. Amarys is a precious 7 year old girl and her family is precious to us.

On Wednesday, December 13, Krystal and Marcelo received the results of the biopsy confirming their daughter, Amarys, has papillary thyroid carcinoma, which is an extremely rapid growing cancer that is not common in kids. They have scheduled her for surgery on Wednesday, December 20 in Ft. Worth at Cook Children’s. On Monday, they will do a chest CT to see if it has invaded her lungs as well. They are going to remove total thyroid, and at least 2 of the 4 para-thyroids, and 80+ lymph nodes at this time. They’re worried it may be in her lungs, so we will also need a chest CT before surgery to see if that will need to be addressed during surgery also. It will be a min 6 hour surgery if everything goes well and they don’t find anything else. Doctor said to expect to stay at least 6 days, and to plan on spending Christmas there. She will need an endocrinologist for the rest of her life, and medications as well.

Expenses will be high. Both parents will be missing work. Travel expenses plus extensive medical expenses beyond insurance coverage. No gift is too small or too big. Thank you for helping to alleviate the burden weighing heavy on this family.
