Amari’s Brave Heart Journey

Our sweet baby boy, Amari John Howard Cooper, came into this world just three weeks ago and has already shown us what true courage looks like. Shortly after birth, he was diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia with Hypoplastic Right Ventricle — a rare and serious congenital heart defect that means his heart was born with only one functioning pumping chamber.

At just days old, Amari began his brave fight — surrounded by the soft hum of hospital machines, the gentle hands of doctors and nurses, and the unwavering love of his family.

His name tells his story:

Amari means “strength” and “eternal.”

John means “God is gracious.”

️ Howard means “brave heart.”

Together, his name perfectly captures who he is — our strong, eternal, gracious, brave-hearted boy.

Amari’s middle name, John Howard, also carries deep meaning. It honors his beloved Poppop, who we believe is now watching over him from above — protecting him through every surgery, every hospital night, and every moment his little heart needs extra courage.

Amari will face multiple open-heart surgeries in his early years. Each day brings new challenges, new milestones, and countless prayers. As parents, we’re doing everything we can to stay strong for him — but this journey comes with overwhelming emotional and financial challenges: long hospital stays, travel costs, time away from work, and ongoing care expenses.
