My niece, Amanda Fitzwater, had surgery on February 4th for an autoimmune inflammatory condition. She had several complications, and her large surgical wound didn’t heal. She required a second surgery in an attempt to close it, which also did not heal, eventually leading to sepsis and more hospitalization.

Amanda has been bedridden since February 4th and hospitalized since April 22nd with even worse complications. During her hospital stay, she developed appendicitis requiring an appendectomy. During the appendectomy, they perforated her bowel, causing numerous infections and stomach abscesses, requiring several surgical procedures and external drains. She once again became septic, requires constant IV antibiotics and has been unable to eat since the surgery, requiring a feeding tube.

Amanda has now been hospitalized for two months, and the medical bills are piling up. Once home, Amanda will require wound care for up to one year, which will be self-pay. Amanda is a single girl, living alone, and this has all been so overwhelming for her. Any donation and your prayers to help Amanda would be greatly appreciated.
