Hi, my name is Amanda. For those of you who know me, friends, family, acquaintances or those who don’t. In 2019 I underwent cancer treatment, several ultrasounds, mammograms, and oral chemotherapy later. All of this lead to a few surgical procedures. Since then I have been testing well (mammograms and or MRIs every 6months) continued screenings, bloodwork and monitoring. This last November (2024) during my annual physical and recheck mammogram, unfortunately there were a few areas of concern. Since then I’ve had more rounds of testing; re-testing, MRIs, Mammograms and ultrasounds. I was presented with 3 paths. 1- another lumpectomy with biopsy and chemotherapy. 2- Double Mastectomy (take everything). Or 3- do nothing, let the masses grow, ignore it as best possible, and ultimately wait for things to worsen and spread. Previously I was told that I should probably pursue a mastectomy (2019),but I was afraid, I was young(er) and really hoped that it would just “work out”. Unfortunately it hasn’t. I hate asking for help, those of you who know me know how I absolutely will fight anyone trying to help me because I always want to help others, I want to take care of others and usually my own health takes a back seat to anything else in my life. I have an extensive amount of medical bills (that are still accumulating) and I will be missing at least 2 months of work. Anything you are willing to do is appreciated, like, share, donate, ignore. Anything. Thank you so much everyone! Hopefully this chapter will be done soon and I will heal and can move on to happier better things.
Update: 04/20/2025; Surgery went well, Recovery has been trying to say the least. Lots of pain, minimal sleeping, lots of nausea. The surgical bra is no joke, medieval style torture. Thank you for all the love and support from everyone that has reached out. I'm just taking things one day at a time for now. <3
