In October 2024, I was diagnosed with leukemia after a sudden trip to the emergency room. I was unable to walk and learned I was septic, in circulatory failure, and facing a life-changing diagnosis. The weeks that followed were filled with surgeries to remove infections from my leg and arm, leaving me with lasting physical challenges. After nearly a month in the hospital, I returned home to my parents, trying to recover and adjust to a new reality.
My treatment journey has been intense and unpredictable. I underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy, faced a dangerous fungal infection, and endured countless infusions and procedures. There were moments when I was told I had only days to live, but with the support of my family, local doctors, and the grace of God, I survived. The side effects have been overwhelming, and pain is a constant companion. Despite going into remission after two cycles of chemo, I am struggling to tolerate further treatment and am now considering a second opinion, which will require a long trip to Cleveland.
This experience has deeply affected my family, especially my two daughters, ages 15 and 18, and my parents who have supported me every step of the way. The stress and uncertainty have touched all of us. I am now living on my own again, but the financial strain is immense. The funds will be used to help to cover rent, utilities, food, travel costs for medical appointments, and basic household needs. Every blessing and act of kindness I receive is thanks to God, and every contribution will help me focus on healing and provide some relief for my family during this difficult time.
