Amanda's Hope Rainbow Angels

I graduated from NYU in 2015 and once I got back in the swing of work again I wanted to find a way to give back to the community. I was volunteering at Summerlin Hospital, when I met Stephanie Davidson, a pediatric anasthesiologist who put me in touch with a close friend of hers, Lorraine Tallman. Even before volunteering my time at Summerlin, I have always had a strong force pushing me to find a way to help give back to children with cancer. I believe a child diagnosed with caner is one of the most unfair things in the world, and I want to make a difference. Lorraine started Amandas Hope Rainbow Angels in Arizona when her daughter unfortunately passed from cancer 5 years ago. This foundtation is absolutely incredible in what they do for patients and for their families. When Lorraine started, she went around to patients at Phoenix hospital anf handed out her renouned comfy cozies (tie dye t-shirts with easy port access) in backpacks with fun items for the kids like itunes gift cards and plush toys! Additionally Lorraine had one of her friends who is a nail tech go in and give the patients manicures while they were getting their infusions to get their minds off of  the cancer and provide them with a little special treatment! Now Lorraine has expanded and does events multiple times per week at the Phoenix and Tuscon hospitals, and just opened a family care facility in Phoenix. She has expanded so much in just 5 years! I am starting a chapter of Amandas Hope here in Las Vegas. We need funds to pay for comfy cozys, bags and gift cards. We have already recieved some charitable donations from businesses and personal friends but the more the merrier!
