Since 2022, I’ve been battling a severe pressure injury complicated by chronic osteomyelitis, a persistent bone infection. Over the past few years, I’ve undergone multiple surgeries, including flap procedures, and each time I healed—only to have the wound reopen months later. Now, I’m facing another two-part surgery: the first will remove infected bone, and the second, a week later, will involve flap reconstruction. Recovery will require 6–8 weeks of strict offloading, hospitalization, and time in a skilled facility. During this period, I won’t be able to run Art for Hope Healing Arts, which is both my passion and a small source of income.
Currently, I live below the poverty level in California, and I’m also carrying significant ambulance bills that weren’t fully covered by insurance. This fundraiser will help cover my living expenses, medical and facility costs, ambulance debt, and recovery supplies so I can focus fully on healing. Any additional funds will help me rebuild and strengthen Art for Hope once I’m healthy again. I also hope to go on a cruise after this medical journey as a way to celebrate recovery and find some joy after a long road.
Any support, big or small, helps in any way, and if you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser. Thank you for supporting me through this long road to recovery.
