In the beginning of 2020, Amanda got very ill and ended up in ICU. After many tests and scans it was identified as stage 3 Adenocarcinoma of the colon. Amanda underwent several major surgeries, chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation. After another major surgery Amanda went into remission that unfortunately only lasted one month before coming back.
After more tests. Surgeries, etc. in July Amanda was also given the devastating news that unfortunately due to her having hereditary disease called Lynch disease the cancer had a very high chance of metastasizing to other parts of her body.
Sadly, she went in for another surgery, had her quarterly scan and found out in September that the cancer metastasized to stage 4 and spread to her peritoneal cavity.
From the moment she found out, Amanda went into fight mode! Amanda is extremely motivated, and is doing everything in her power to stay healthy, and is willing to do whatever it takes to beat this!! She is currently traveling to Atlanta for treatments every three weeks at the Cancer treatment center of America.
If you know Amanda personally, you know that she cares so deeply about everyone she meets. She’s an amazing mother and grandmother that is passionate about her family and loves them to the moon and back. Amanda is a single mother of 4 and looking forward to meeting her 3rd granddaughter due in February. Amanda and the family can use all the prayers and positive thoughts as they navigate through this scary time.
As you can imagine, the financial impact of treatment and traveling is overwhelming for Amanda and her family.
We’re putting together this GoFundMe to help take some of the burden away so that Amanda and her family can focus on fighting this! Please consider helping in any way you can...financial donations, prayers and even reaching out with a phone call are so meaningful and will be met with deepest gratitude. We thank you in advance for all of your support and will keep you updated with new developments❤️
