Amanda's Cancer and Fertility Treatment
Donation protected
Amanda and Tim are dear friends of mine who had plans to get married last year but like so many, had to delay their wedding due to Covid. They had dreams of starting their own little family and then just like that, on April 6, 2021, Amanda recieved the devastating news that she has breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast). The treatments that will save her life and rid her body of this terrible disease, will also prevent her from bringing a life into this world. Instead of focusing on the joys of planning her wedding in August and her life together with Tim, she is now faced with many doctor appointments, out of pocket expenses and unpaid time off of work for appointments and surgery.
This is where we can help! Based on her doctor's recommendation, Amanda and Tim are working with a great fertility clinic in PA to undergo the process of IVF/fertility preservation. This process is time-consuming, expensive, not covered by insurance and must be completed prior to starting her cancer treatments. Amanda started her first self-injection on Friday to stimulate her ovaries. The goal is to produce and freeze as many eggs as they can to be used once she has kicked cancers ass.
I know we can all help take some of the financial burden off of her and Tim so she can focus on her health. Having a family has always been in their plans and I want for all of us to give them that fighting chance. This past week was infertility awareness week and Mother’s Day is fast approaching. There are no more deserving people on planet earth to be parents than Amanda and Tim. No matter how big or small, your generous contribution will be forever appreciated.
