Update and Closing Post - August 2nd, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda Kylene Kozlowski. On Sunday, July 23rd, surrounded by her family at the Red Deer Hospice, we said our final goodbyes. We feel in our hearts that she was as free from pain as possible, at peace, and most importantly, we strongly feel she knew we were right by her side.
Our family cannot adequately express our thanks for the love and donations sent to Amanda as a result of her Go Fund Me fundraiser. She was incredibly purposeful with the donation money and the support rallied her spirits at a time when she desperately needed to feel joy. Amanda left us earlier than any of us thought she would, and as a result, a portion of the funds went unspent. On behalf of Amanda, our family has decided to make donations to both the Red Deer Cancer Clinic as well as to the Red Deer Hospice Society, both of which we feel incredibly indebted to for the support they provided to both Amanda and our family during this extremely challenging chapter of life. Our family is incredibly moved by all your generosity and honourned to make these donations in her name.
Over her 2 year journey with cancer, we were reminded daily of Amanda's intelligence, persistence, grit, enormous capacity for love, and of the unparalleled physical, mental and emotional strength that she possessed, even in her last days and hours. Our lives will never be the same without Amanda's humour, thoughtfulness, understanding, and kindness but we hope to be able to find a strength in ourselves, like we saw in her, as we begin our long grieving process.
Give Grandma a squeeze from us all, Mandy. We know she is eagerly waiting with open arms.
Video Update- June 18th, 2023
Hi! My name is Ang Hall and I'm fundraising for my beautiful sister, Amanda.
Amanda was first diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2021 and took all courses of action recommended by her medical team including 2 separate courses of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiation therapy. If you know Amanda, it won't surprise you to hear that she took it all on like the absolute warrior that she is. The physical challenges were great, and with it being the height of Covid, she had to take extreme caution. As a result, she was unable to surround herself with many of the people she loves the most making the emotional challenges equally as great.
Fast forward, and Amanda has now received another diagnosis. Unfortunately, despite taking all the medical recommendations, the cancer has progressed to Stage 4 Metastatic Breast cancer and it has spread to her lungs and bones.
Amanda is nothing if not a researcher. She has found hope in studying case after case of women who have paired conventional medical therapies with alternative therapies and had great success in keeping their quality of life high by keeping the cancer at bay and in some cases even shrinking the tumors. While there is no cure, she feels confident that if she has the means to explore alternative therapies, she too may increase her own quality of life and extend the time we have with her as long as possible.
Any and all donations will be used directly to support Amanda in eating healthy, organic food and to explore as many alternative therapies as possible. Amanda is currently not working and her financial resources otherwise will not allow these actions.
A heartfelt thank you in advance from Amanda and our whole family.
We love you endlessly, sissy. Thank you for fighting so hard.
