Hi everyone. This is my cousin Amanda. She’s a 37 year old single mom who, just a couple of weeks ago, was believed to have Covid-19. She spoke to her doctor over the phone and he recommended that she self-quarantine for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks of not getting any better, and actually feeling much worse, she decided to go to the hospital. After extensive testing she was negative for Covid-19 but positive for much worse. The diagnosis was Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.

CML is a rare form of Leukemia that only makes up about 15% of Leukemia cases. It is not curable but is treatable. That being said, she will require treatment for CML for the rest of her life.

Being a single mom is hard enough financially but to be a single mom fighting cancer is a whole different financial strain. As you all know, even with insurance, cancer treatment can be very expensive. This fundraiser is to help with whatever medical expenses may come along during her lifelong treatment.

I will keep everyone updated as new information is available. She is a fighter and will fight this with everything she has.
