My name is Amanda and I am 26 years old. Most people describe me as a cheerful, bubbly, optimistic person and I have a tendency to agree with that sentiment. I believe that life is beautiful and that everyone you meet is meant to be in your life at that moment in that way for a reason. So, I try to be as pleasant and optimistic as possible — reciprocity/Golden Rule?
In April 2018, I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma making me a bit of an anomaly (should I change my name to Anna Molly?). People diagnosed with CLL/SLL are typically 50 years old or older and it is rare for someone under the age of 35 to be diagnosed.
I started a blog shortly after my diagnosis as a way of “screaming my feelings into the ether” — basically a way for me to talk about my diagnosis and vent about what is going on in my life around it.
Since my diagnosis I was put on long term disability and as of about 10 days ago (August 2nd) I was let go from my job.
It is rare for me to ask for help let alone ask for money but I feel lost right now and under a lot of pressure to make ends meet financially. I am unsure of whether I can get another job at the moment and I do not think I'd be able to keep up with COBRA, medical, and personal bills and expenses.
