Honoring Amanda Strickland: A Legacy for Her Children

​On April 23rd, 2026, our lives were changed forever. What began as a family road trip ended in a devastating tragedy that has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.

The Tragedy:

​After 15 hours on the road, Amanda’s SUV and a transport truck collided. Despite the heroic efforts of her boyfriend to pull her from the vehicle and the immediate response of emergency personnel, Amanda’s injuries were too severe. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

​Most heartbreakingly, our 13-year-old daughter, Brianna, was there. While she miraculously survived with minor physical injuries, she witnessed the unthinkable—the loss of her mother and the desperate attempts to save her.

A Family in Mourning:

This loss comes at a time of existing grief. Amanda, along with her siblings Carla, Jessica, and Bradley, only just lost their mother this past Christmas. Now, these siblings have lost their sister, and our children Brianna, age 13 and Kaleb, age 6 have lost their Mother and thier world has shattered. As the partner of the biological father of Amanda’s children I am doing everything in my power to steer them through this storm.

How Your Support Helps:

​Amanda did not have life insurance, leaving the family with an overwhelming financial burden during a time of immense grief.  Unfortunately, thier father will not be able to go back to work for a while givien the situation. Your donations will go directly toward:

​Funeral Expenses:

-Transportation of her body to bring her back home to Ottawa so that we can put her body to rest.

-Giving Amanda the dignified farewell she deserves.

​-Medical Bills: Covering outstanding costs related to the accident.

-Living costs while the remaining family and her children go through the emotions of the loss of Amanda.
