Help Amanda, Rocky & Zoey rise from the ashes

On Sunday, February 11th, my sister Amanda's house burned to the ground, and Amanda, Rocky, and Zoey lost their home and everything in it, including their beloved pets. They also lost two vehicles to the fire. As we try to help them heal and move toward being able to recover from this devastating loss, the first step is making sure they are able to stay safe and well. This means having the basic funds for shelter, food, clothing, medicine, and all the essential costs of living we sometimes tend to take for granted. Unfortunately, these costs add up quickly, but each and every necessity and comfort makes a world of difference right now.

I cannot stress this enough: every. little. bit. helps. Whatever you can afford to give, your generosity will make a real difference. In addition to providing them with the security they need so much, each act of kindness helps to remind Amanda, Rocky, and Zoey that they are not alone, and they have the support of our community. IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Amanda's homeowner's insurance will not be covering the costs of any belongings lost in the fire. They will not be covering any costs of living, rent, or mortgage payments on the house during the time it takes to rebuild. They will only be covering the cost of demolition and rebuilding of the structure itself. Accordingly, we have increased our fundraising goal.
