Amanda Rea lost the brief and tragic battle against cancer on October 20, 2025. The 3 short months that she was diagnosed and fighting for her life were done in silence and dignity as she wasn’t sure how to communicate to those around her about her condition. For many weeks, she continued on as if nothing was wrong to try to keep life “normal” for her children. Therefore, many of us were shocked by the news of her passing. Her loss impacted so many people in the community, at her church, her work, and especially her family. Amanda was a single mother who raised three wonderful children. The care and support for the children left at home is being provided by her mother and father, Barbara and Ronald Gearing. Unfortunately, she also left behind tens of thousands in medical bills, the cost of the mortgage and utilities in the house the children live in, and the day-to-day needs of her children. As the family navigates how to handle the blending of the two homes and still allow Hannah to attend the same high school she is currently at, the bills are piling up. Any donations will help greatly in allowing Barbara and Ronald to let Hannah live the “normal” life that Mandy wished for her.
