Amanda Mercer Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Our hearts are broken as we mourn the tragic loss of Amanda Mercer and are concerned about what comes next for her surviving daughters.
On June 1, 2020, Amanda was murdered by her estranged husband shortly after she arrived at their place of business. He also killed one of the employees while she was dialing 911. After a lengthy standoff with law enforcement, he took his own life. As the local community continues to process the unfathomable event that occurred on June 1st, we must come together to support Amanda's daughters.
Jessica, Mandy, and Holly were Amanda's source of joy and hope. She loved and protected them with a level of fierceness that is impossible to describe. Her daughters were her world, and she was theirs. And, just as her girls were the loves of her life, Amanda's grandchildren were the "lights" of her life. She enjoyed spending time with Willow (6), Weston (5), and Riley (6 months) and often shared stories of their adventures with family and friends. She made being a grandmother seem like the most amazing and fun experience that anyone could have!
On June 1st, Amanda was taken from them in the most horrific way and without considering the lifelong consequences that the her daughters are forced to endure. Willow and Weston have questions that cannot be answered, including the reason Amanda is gone. Sweet baby Riley will not remember the sound of Amanda's voice or comfort of her loving arms. Jessica, Mandy, and Holly are now motherless daughters and must navigate through life's "murky waters" without Amanda to depend on for guidance and love.
All donations received will go directly to Jessica Herndon. She and her husband, Wes, have been appointed as Holly's legal guardians. The funds will be used to support the expenses associated with adding a teenager to their family that already includes three young children. At only 26 years old, Jessica is responsible for the care and well-being of her youngest sister while, at the same time, mourning the loss of their mother and best friend. The funds will also be used to assist Mandy with adjusting to a life without her parents.
