Amanda Manning's Fight against Stage IV Cancer
Donation protected
Dear compassionate friends,
My name is Amanda Manning, and I find myself at a crossroads—a place where courage meets vulnerability. On January 1st, my world shifted when I noticed my right eye behaving strangely. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a battle against a rare autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis and Stage IV Cancer diagnosis.
The Unexpected Diagnosis:
After more than a month of being in a hospital, intubated, unable to breath on my own, put into a medically induced coma, and receiving surgery to remove my Thymus Gland which had calcified, I received the shocking news: my Myasthenia Gravis had escalated to Stage 4 Thymus cancer, spreading to my heart, lung, and blood. The weight of this revelation is immense. At 33 years old, with three beautiful children, I’m not ready to leave this world. I’ve only just begun to live life for myself.
The Treatment Path Ahead:
Despite my reservations about chemotherapy, the path forward is clear. I need an extensive regimen of chemotherapy, followed by radiation, and more chemotherapy. It’s a daunting journey, a long journey and one that will test my strength and resilience more than has ever been tested before in my still young life.
A Mother’s Fear:
As a mother, my heart aches for my children. How will this affect them? How do I find the words to tell them? The uncertainty is overwhelming, but I hold onto hope and faith.
March 25th: A Pivotal Day:
On March 25th, I begin chemotherapy. It’s a date etched in my mind—a day that marks both fear and determination. I ask for your prayers, your positive thoughts, and your unwavering support.
Closing:
Thank you for being part of my support system. Together, we’ll face this battle—one step, one treatment, one prayer at a time. Let’s fight for life, love, and healing.
With gratitude,
Amanda Kathleen Manning
