Amanda and Jimi's Fire Fund

Hello Everyone! 

My name is John Schwaninger, a close friend of Amanda McGinley. As many of you know, Ft. McMurray in Alberta, Canada has recently been ravaged by the largest wild fire in Canadian history. Our dear friends Amanda and Jimi are residents of Ft. McMurray, and while they and their turtle Pete made it out safely during the evacuations, they have lost most of their personal belongings to fire and smoke damage. 

There has been a great outpouring of support and a desire to help, but with Amanda and Jimi currently being in British Columbia with Jimi's parents, it makes it difficult for anyone to send care packages. And while we all know and love them dearly, we don't know all of what they would need specifically. 

So I have been in touch with Amanda's mother Libby, and we decided to create this GoFundMe account to make it easier for close friends and family to help Amanda and Jimi to start on another adventure. I set an arbitrary goal of $1,000 because it was required, but any small donation would help them greatly! All funds will go directly to Amanda and Jimi for the basics like food, clothing, medicine, toiletries, turtle food, etc. 

Amanda and Jimi are fiercly independent, so I took the liberty of starting this without their knowledge. I love them both dearly, as do you all, and want to help them as much as I can from afar. Please feel free to chip in any amount you would like, and it will go directly to them once the GoFundMe page has hit its deadline.
