Amanda Gonzalez's Fearless fight against Covid-19

As we know, Covid-19 has spread viciously around the world and thus affected millions of people. Some families have been impacted more directly than others. Unfortunately, Amanda Gonzalez and her family are one of them and have been greatly affected in a way that we never imagined possible. We created this GoFundme in order to support Amanda in her fight against COVID-19, as well as aid her family in order for them to continue supporting her and the rest of her family members who have also contracted Covid-19 and are recovering at home. When Covid-19 was first identified in our region, Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Amanda having graduated from nursing school with an Associate's degree in nursing, took all the precautions she could in order to avoid exposing herself and contracting Covid-19. She stayed home as much as she could, ordered everything online, always encouraged family members to be safe and wear their PPE. Amanda, being very crafty and creative, even used her artistic skills and sewing skills to make PPE masks for her immediate and extended family members and friends. She is always concerned and thinking of others' health and wanting them to be safe! Covid initially affected our family when Amanda's maternal grandfather and aunt began experiencing symptoms. They were both hospitalized with her aunt now having recovered and unfortunately her grandfather passing away. Days later Amanda's father and mother began experiencing symptoms as well, which quickly escalated and resulted in their hospitalizations. During her parents' hospitalizations, Amanda also began experiencing symptoms but disregarded them as she was gravely concerned with her parents' health. She eventually sought out medical assistance at a nearby ER center on the 14th of September however was released due to her Covid test coming out negative. She attempted to be tested again a few days later at a different hospital, however tested negative again and therefore wasn't admitted. She sought out medical intervention for the 3rd time at a nearby hospital Knapp Medical Center on the 25th of September and she was finally admitted when her Covid-19 test came back positive. On this day, her mother was finally being released from the hospital meanwhile Amanda was being admitted. Amanda's symptoms continued to worsen as the days went by, high fevers, oxygen levels unstably plummeting on and off, experiencing pneumonia, and various infections thus resulting in other complications. On the day Amanda's father was being released from the hospital, her medical team in the ICU decided to intubate her in order to give her lungs a break as she wasn't improving much with the 75 liters of oxygen and bypap they had her on.  She has now been intubated for more than a week and her body has been slow to respond to various antibiotics and other medications. Her medical team has been working around the clock to help her heal and trying different protocols of treatment.  Amanda's sisters were informed that she is a good candidate to receive ECMO treatment, however it is not available at that hospital and she would need to be transferred. Unfortunatley, her oxygen levels and BP have been very unstable and it would be too great of a risk at this time. More recently they have successfully placed a central venous line in order to administer a third antibiotic, which has shown to be more promising. They have also been able to perform dialysis successfully in order to assist her kidney function and rid her body of toxins and improve her overall state. Dialysis is expected to be continued to promote further stabilization and hopefully have her placed on ECMO in the near future. Amanda's parents have continued to recover under quarantine at home and have regained some of their strength with the care from their other children and family members. However, they are saddened and worried about the health of their daughter Amanda as they were only very recently told of her current state of health. As a family, we have come together to provide support for Amanda and her family in the ways that we can, support and prayer. However, as we are now only just starting to see some light shine at the end of tunnel with Amanda responding to new treatment, we are trying to prepare for the next step and require financial assistance in order to do so.  Financial donations are   greatly needed as Amanda does not currently have medical insurance and after only 2 weeks of hospitalization has already acquired a bill of over $250,000. It has been about 2 months since this tragedy began in our family and we know we have a long road ahead of us. We are asking for donations that will go towards Amanda's medical expenses, bills, travel expenses, and to support her family as we navigate this difficult time. Amanda is a strong-minded and strong willed person.
