Amanda & Emily Williams Medical Fund

Donation protected

On 8/30/2021, the Williams’ family experienced one of the most horrifying nights of our lives. My 16yo niece, Emily, and her mom, Amanda, went to drop something to a family friend. As they traveled down Hwy 26, they hit something in the road that felt like a dip. It was raining pretty hard, so it was unclear of what exactly they hit. Amanda called DRay to let him know they were headed home, and that they had hit something but were going slow due to the rain. Approximately 10 minutes later (on their way back home), just as they approached the same area, Emily noticed the road was… gone, but it was too late to stop. Both Amanda and Emily were knocked unconscious at impact. When Emily came to, Amanda was still unconscious, but was choking. Emily immediately grabbed her to push her into a sitting position to help her. Amanda came to- neither of them knew what happened and it was pitch black. Emily began digging around on the floor for her phone to call 911. I’m doing so, she cut her hands up not realizing she was digging through clay and glass. Emily was able to find Amanda’s phone and call 911. Her next call was to her dad. Emily was hysterical and saying they fell in a hole but had no idea where they were. DRay could hear Amanda screaming- he could also her another voice screaming. Emily explained it was coming from the car on top of them- we later found out that voice was 17yo, Layla.

Numerous community members showed up with heavy equipment and jumped into action with first responders. Emily and Amanda were cut out using the jaws of life. Due to the way they were pulled from the wreckage, Amanda ended up on one side of the hole while Emily went to the other. Amanda was taken to Stone County Hospital; Emily was taken to George County. From there, Amanda was rushed to Forrest General, and Emily was rushed to USA Trauma in Mobile, AL- both in critical condition.

Emily and Amanda’s injuries are severe.

Emily sustained a broken femur, wrist, and hand, as well as a torn colon and other internal injuries. The doctor said there will most likely be more injuries pop up once some of the trauma her body suffered has had time to catch up.

Amanda sustained a broken femur & tibia, numerous facial fractures, broken jaw, broken teeth, swelling on her brain, numerous internal injuries, and is on a ventilator. Amanda also suffered a stroke on her left side and cannot move the right side of her body. They have attempted to draw back sedation but with her brain swelling, the had to put her on a full ventilator.

Amanda does NOT have insurance, so the hospital will take necessary life saving measures, but she will need a lot of care when/if she comes home. She will also need to see specialists for everything she has suffered- in an attempt to get her back to the best she can be. Amanda will not be able to return to work for a long time, if ever, and does not have long term disability.

I am starting this Go Fund Me To ensure that when the girls are able to come home, they will be able to afford the continued medical attention needed. They have a long road ahead of them!! Your help is appreciated more than you know, as are all the prayers!!

I am also adding my brothers cash app and PayPal if anyone prefers to donate directly. This will be the ONLY Go Fund Me approved by our family.

CashApp: $Draywilliams25

Any money donated on any of these will go directly into a separate account set up for Amanda and Emily’s medical expenses and care. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly as my brother has to focus on his family right now.
