In the early morning hours of August 4, just before 4 a.m., firefighters in Yarmouth, MA were called to a raging house fire at 80 Mayflower Terrace. 

On arrival at Amanda Barabe’s home, firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames. 

Luckily, both Amanda and her elderly mother escaped unharmed. But the flames destroyed nearly everything they owned.

 Amanda has worked as a server at Blue Rock Resort in South Yarmouth for 27 years and is loved by resort guests and team members for her easy temperament and knowledge of Cape Cod.

 Her friends and co-workers are organizing this fundraising drive to help Amanda and her mom recover from this devastating tragedy.  This money will be used to re-establish Amanda from a tube of toothpaste on up.  Every little donation can go a long way!

 After trying to fight the fire with an interior attack, crews were removed from the building so exterior crews could attack the attic from the exterior.

Two firefighters were treated for exhaustion at the scene and fire departments from across Cape Cod were called to the scene.
