Help Amal & Her Family Evacuate Rafah

Donation protected
My name is Claire, I'm an actor, filmmaker, and activist based out of New York. I was made aware of Amal’s situation and her story through a personal connection, and I’ve chosen to help facilitate this fundraiser to help her and her family find the safety, shelter, and medical attention they need. Thank you for supporting this effort. Any level of contribution you're able to make is greatly appreciated, and sharing this page with your network can go a long way even if you don't have funds to contribute.

How will the funds be distributed?
I will send the funds to Amal’s cousin, who lives in Egypt and who will directly assist Amal and her family in their move.

Cost:
The cost for each person is roughly $5k each. There are seven family members total, plus the GoFundMe and transfer fees.

From Amal Al Mashharawi, 26. These are her direct words:
Her family is originally from Muharraqa, a depopulated village near Gaza that was destroyed by Isareli forces in 1948.

There is an urgent need to help a family consisting of 7 members, including two children and a wounded father, who live in a tent in a desert area in Rafah under the blazing sun.

We pray to God that we do not lose one of us one day. We are not able to bear more pain than that.

Our journey with painful wars , we were having a beautiful life before the fateful day 10/7/2023. We had a life, our conquest had a life, and now what happened? We were displaced from our home,, and our house was demolished one day after it began. It is such an indescribable feeling of losing your security, your peace, your home and members of your family. We became homeless, moving from street to street. What is our fault in living in this tragedy?

The situation since October 7
Our life was beautiful before the war, and it was not like this before. Our situation has deteriorated greatly. I lost my friends and relatives in this war, so I decided to make the connection, as I do not want to lose any of my family members, so I will not bear that to happen

We were displaced in October in the south of Gaza in the Nuseirat area. We stayed there for a month, and then we left for Rafah. We lived in tents for five months. We suffered a lot during the winter. It was raining on us, and all of our clothes and food were drowning from the rain, and now it is summer, so it is not suitable for us to sit inside the tent.

We have been displaced approximately four times, moving from one area to another for fear of bombing.

My dear father, he suffered an injury that led to the amputation of his left foot, and now he suffers from back pain. He needs care and a medical bed to sleep on, as the tent is not suitable for his health condition at all. My younger siblings, Muhammad and Remas, have lost their childhood and studies due to the Corona virus and currently the war. I do not know when they will get a good education.

The need for treatment
My father is an injured person. His left foot was amputated. He now suffers from pain in his foot and back pain. He needs special medical care and continuous treatment. The tent is not suitable for his health condition, as its health may deteriorate at any moment . l am very afraid for that

Loss of housing
In addition to our house which is was demolished for the fourth time in a row during last wars on the Gaza Strip Now we live in a very small tent that has holes However, we were praying that winter to end because of the extreme cold, diseases and pain without even heavy clothes. We were bearing that pain due to the lack of appropriate medicines. Unfortunately, the summer season was not as comfortable as we expected, but worse than winter. The sun is very hot. Living in a tent has become impossible now. We can not bear that , and if the war does not end, we will either die because of the war, or because of living in a tent that is not safe from splinters or harmful animals such as snakes and others.

Child Rights
As for my two brothers, Muhammad and Remas, they have not received education for seven months. In addition, they have not received their right to play like other children, as Muhammad is forced to go every day at five in the morning to help his brother at five in the morning to fill water instead of going to school. Your donations will help them continue to play and learn And start a better life.

Life's difficulties
We suffer from many difficulties, starting with bottling water. We can only get it twice a week. My brothers Ramzi and Muhammad walk long distances to get water, and they wake up from five in the morning until noon to be able to fill some liters of water, in addition to the high prices, as all members of my family do not work and there has been no financial income for seven months. It has been difficult for months to provide the minimum necessities of life: food, drink, clothing, shelter, and treatment. In addition, my mother, who suffers from pain and sensitivity in her eyes, has to light a fire every morning so that she can cook for us, despite her doctors warning her against it.

There is A hope
Now there is no hope other than to emigrate from our city with our memories. It costs more than $5,000 per person in addition to the high cost of living outside the country, knowing that our family does not have a financial income.

Your help to us will make our hearts very happy. We will feel that you are by our side. We hope that your kind heart will feel for us. We are now alive without a soul or life. Please do not allow our souls to go without living a beautiful, independent life. Help us to stay alive, even if with the least you have.
