Who this will help
We are a group of teachers and staff from Amahje's school, organizing this fundraiser on behalf of his mother, Sabra.

Why I'm fundraising
Amahje was the kind of person who made everyone around him smile. A smart, kind, funny kid with a bright future. He was a great athlete and a good sport. A wonderful friend and teammate. A beloved brother and son.

A strong student, Amahje was planning to apply to selective high schools in San Francisco where he could challenge himself academically. He had participated in the SMART program, which helps students with high potential reach their higher education goals, and he had worked for Project Genesis last summer supporting his community. He was a multi-sport athlete, and was pursuing excellence in his favorite sport of basketball, with his teammates on the SF Rebels and multiple travel club teams, as well as being a star player on the Denman Middle School basketball team, where he earned the Most Valuable Player award this year.

A few days before Christmas, Amahje was tragically killed in a hit and run accident.

This is a shocking loss for his family, as well as his friends, teammates, and his classmates and school communities at Denman Middle School and Lakeshore Elementary School.

We hope that his community can come together in celebration of Amahje's life, and in support of the family he leaves behind: his older and younger brothers, and his parents.

His family is still reeling from the shock of this tragedy, and we are hosting this fundraiser to help the family with necessities while they are grieving.

The impact of your support

In the wake of this incomprehensible loss, let's rally together to support Amahje's family during this unimaginably difficult time. Your donations will help to cover unexpected costs, and offer support with other necessities as they recover from the shock of this tragedy.

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with your wider community. Together, let's honor Amahje's memory by showing support to his family as they begin to rebuild their lives without their beloved son and brother.

Your kindness, compassion, and support during this challenging time are deeply appreciated by the family and everyone touched by this heartbreaking loss. Thank you for being a source of comfort and assistance in their time of need.
