Hello, I’m River, a disabled 2 Spirit trans person, and right now we are struggling with trying to stay housed. We owe $11,700 in back pay to the mortgage company. We couldn’t afford to pay the mortgage for a few months when both of my roommates lost their jobs in August/September. Back then, the mortgage was $3,200 a month. We have since gotten it lowered to $2,200 a month, which is more easily affordable, but we’re struggling to pay back what we owe, and we may lose the house soon if some of the back pay isn’t paid back soon. We need help paying that down so we (me, my two roommates, five cats, and one dog) can stay housed. I’m disabled and only get $600 a month in government disability. One roommate has a job and works 7 days a week, and it’s still not enough. The other roommate lost his job and has been struggling to even find part-time seasonal work. I really hate to ask, but we’re truly so desperate so we don’t lose our house. Please consider helping; even small amounts, even just $1, would be appreciated so we can try and stay housed. I doubt we’ll be able to get the full $11,700, but if we can raise even half, it would help us so much to stay housed. So please consider it!
