Medical specialists have delivered the heartbreaking news that, within a matter of months, Matthew will face almost complete blindness. The reality of losing his sight is not only a personal tragedy for Matthew but also a significant loss for our community.

Amidst this challenging time, there is a glimmer of hope in the form of a potentially life-changing treatment. There exists a drug called Idebenone, and if administered in tablet form, may have the power to stabilize Matthew's condition and stop it from getting worse. While it's important to note that this is not a guaranteed cure, it is an essential step that we must take to try and save Matthew's vision.

Matthew's right eye has already reached an extreme point of deterioration, but there is hope for his left eye, which is not yet as severely affected and could potentially be saved with timely intervention. The catch, however, is that the medication required for this rare disease can only be obtained from the United States.
