My dad is my world — The person who taught me strength, kindness, and resilience (and my love for 80's rock music ) Recently, we received heartbreaking news that he has dementia. It was a hell of a long process to get this diagnosis, a lot of intervention from social workers and healthcare professionals but we got there in the end and we can now focus on ensuring my dad's needs are met.

Alzheimer’s is a cruel and relentless illness that slowly steals memories, moments, and the essence of the people we love most. It’s tough watching my dad - someone who is normally SO full of life start to fade, questioning himself and losing capacity and it’s even tougher to know how little is currently available to stop or reverse it.

That’s why I’m taking part in the Memory Walk 2025 — to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research and support services that give help to so many people across the country.

Every step I take is for my dad — and for all the families facing this disease. The money raised will go directly to organizations working tirelessly to find better treatments and to support those living with Alzheimer’s.

My goal is £160 but if I can make it to £200 that would be AMAZING! If you can, please consider donating. Even a small contribution helps fund research, care, and community programs that make a difference.
