Alyssiyas Medical journey
Donation protected
Hi, I am creating this fundraiser for my niece, ALYSSIYA Miyashiro - Catbagan as she continues her battle against two cancerous germinoma tumors; One located on her pituitary gland and one on her pineal gland. She is a beautiful, kind and sweet little girl who is fighting a battle that no child should ever have to face. Due to Covid-19, only one parent is allowed to stay in the hospital with her during this time. If they switch off, the other needs to be off the premises entirely. She and her family reside on Kauai, but all treatments are needing to be done on Oahu. Alyssiya has an older sister, Anjoelina and both parents Joel and Gemmalyn Miyashiro work full time. I know it's a rough time for everyone right now, but if you're able to, Please help this Ohana(family) in any way possible as they are all going through this together! Even if its just a prayer, healing words or simply sharing this post, we are extremly grateful.
Their journey has only just begun and medical expenses are starting to add up. I will add their pay pal and venmo information right below this as well.

Alyssiya was diagnosed with a fairly rare type of diabetes called "diabetes insipidus" in mid November (2020) and her journey began .
After numerous blood test, MRIs and CT scans her parents were informed she had two tumors. Her tumors are located on her pineal and pituitary glands located in her brain.
The next step was to fly to Oahu for a biopsy to see weather or not the tumors were cancerous. Shortly after her biopsy the results confirmed that both tumors to be cancerous BUT thankfully localized and not spreading.
Alyssiya was scheduled to start her first round of chemotherapy on January 5th, but unfortunately experienced a few of the forewarned side affects from her biopsy and needed to be medevac to Kapiolani on New years eve (12/31/20).

Plans changed and her doctors had decided to begin chemotherapy sooner..
On 01/01/2021, She started her first round of chemotherapy. She completed it like the strong, brave little girl she is and was able to fly back home on 01/06/2021 to be with her family for a couple of days before having to fly back up on 01/08/2021 to do further tests and prepare for her second round of chemotherapy.
01/08/2021 Alyssiya and her mom, Gemmalyn, flew back up to Oahu to prepare for her second round of chenotherapy that will begin on Jan.22nd.
I will update this post as best I can. As of now, this is where she's currently at on her journey and we would like to thank everyone near and far for all the love and support!
