Alyssa's Top Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Alyssa. I am nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. I am going to get top surgery (double mastectomy) this spring and need help covering the costs. With this fundraiser, I hope to raise enough funds to cover hospital bills, lost wages, and post surgery needs. I need your help. Every penny helps and I appreciate each one.
I am getting top surgery to feel fully myself in my body. I have wanted to be rid of my breasts since my mid teens and now I've got my chance to make that dream come true after over 20 years. I wish I could look at my younger self and say, "Alyssa, someday it WILL happen," but since I can't, I can be an example for kids like me. I want to be a success story. "It's never too late." Never too late to come out (again), never too late to reach for your dreams, never too late to be happy.
This fund will cover many costs. I will be out of work for up to 6 weeks, meaning lost wages as an hourly employee. Hospital bills add up quickly. Bandages, scar sheets, and other medical supplies add up too. Post surgery, I will not be able to raise my arms for many months, so I need some new clothing that I can wear, as most things I own go over my head. Feeding ourselves will be a bit of an ordeal in the beginning, so money for delivery will be appreciated. It's a lot to think about and I'm afraid we've forgotten something.
With your help, and the help of the friends and family you share this with, I will reach my goal and be able to go through this surgery with much less to worry about. Surgery can already be scary. Worrying about big bills on top of that is even worse. Please, make it a little less scary and help me out.
