Alyssa's Fundraising for Top Surgery!

Hello everyone!

I'm Alyssa, a trans elementary teacher, teaching here in Indianapolis, IN! This picture is chosen in the spirit of my sister telling me several years ago that I looked good in rompers & jumpsuits & this is the most recent romper try-on last week at the boutique my sister used to work at in Indy--so fun!! (and yes, I bought it!)

After a few years of waiting, considering my options, moving states, & changing jobs & doctors multiple times--I have decided, especially in this current US climate, to self-pay for top surgery. Dr. Kenneth Wolf will be my surgeon & the surgery will happen in West Bloomfield, outside of Detroit.

I will be having surgery on June 9th, which gives me the summer to recover, before going back into the next school year at the end of July. I need to pay for surgery in full by May 17th, which gives me about 2 months to fundraise.

I have already put down $500 to reserve my surgery date & this amount will go toward the full cost.

The rest of the surgery costs $6,400, not including prescriptions I will need to pay out-of-pocket for as well. My goal is to raise $7,500 to also cover prescriptions and costs to stay in Detroit for my first 5 days of recovery, until my post-op appointment.
