Alyssa Molina's Lymphoma Support

In June of 2020, our little sister Alyssa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Diffused Large B-Cell Lymphoma.
What we thought was going to be a herniated disc that was causing pain in her back, hips and legs, turned out to be stage 4 cancer. Doctors performed a biopsy on her lymph nodes in the neck and emergency surgery on her hip to prevent an imminent break that would have complicated her diagnosis further. After a 6 day stay in the hospital, she was released to go home in preparation for her cancer treatment.
Currently, Alyssa and our mom, Maggie (who will be her primary caretaker throughout this process) are on their way to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL for further tests and chemotherapy treatment.
At age 22, Alyssa recently graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor in Arts in English and Creative Writing with honors. She is a performing poet and an aspiring novelist. In her downtime, she loved everything from working as a manager at her favorite local restaurant Simpl, to restoring old books at The UT Library, and even teaching poetry workshops. She is also a central piece to her church community as a kid's ministry leader.
The journey ahead proves to have challenges, but we remain optimistic and strengthened by the outpouring of emotional support from family and friends. We know that this process of healing is something that will require all of her communities to come together as one and provide support to our girl, Alyssa.
Right now, all funds donated will be used to cover medical expenses, any outstanding bills from medical leave and provide basic needs for Alyssa and Maggie while they are at the Moffitt Cancer Center.
Lastly, please pray for Alyssa on her journey to healing. Given what feels like an impossible reality, prayer has been our first response. It has given us immense comfort and hope in a time when we really need it.
