Alyssa lost her mom, Jennifer, to breast cancer our freshman year in high school, it was easily the hardest thing either of us had experienced at that point in our young lives. Jennifer was an amazing woman and even in the midst undergoing treatments she was preparing for the future of her four girls. BRCA is a genetic testing done to screen for mutated breast cancer cells., so basically a breast cancer susceptibly test. Fortunately with the advancement of this amazing technology Alyssa, is able to decrease her chances of developing breast cancer by 95%. Unfortunately Alyssa has to undergo an invasive bilateral prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction. After her surgery Alyssa will have to be out of work for a few weeks and I would like to raise some money for her expenses. I'm well over a thousand miles away from her--and admittedly feeling a little helpless. I'm hoping this money will alleviate some stress from the finical burden of being out of work for a long period of time, so she can focus her energy on healing. Alyssa is an inspiration to me, and so many. This is something women of all ages would struggle with, Alyssa is in her twenties and handling it with grace. As cliche as it sounds, any little bit would hep! Thank you
