Alyssa Stebbing Goes to Seminary

Sometimes I feel as if I'm living my life backwards, at other times, I just refer to myself as a late bloomer. But, living faith is a paradox, and I'm living proof of that surrender that runs one upside down. God is not predictable.
So, here's what's happening. On February 8, 2019, I was made a Postulant to Holy Orders by the Diocese of Texas. In layman's terms, I'm approved to study for the Episcopal priesthood. On March 29, I got a call from Seminary of the Southwest to tell me I was accepted into the Masters of Divinity program.
I will be keeping a blog (www.alyssastebbing.wordpress.com) so family and friends can accompany me in my process. The prayers and love I have received through my years in lay ministry have carried me to this point and I hope will continue. You are a part of this journey and I hope you come along with me. (Not literally, as I'll be living in a 400 sq. ft. apartment, but figuratively. You know what I mean.)
Several have already asked me how they can support me, so here are some suggestions. I seriously do value your prayers. They surround me better than a weighted blanket and keep me afloat. For wanting to support me financially, I've set up a GoFundMe link to help me while I go from full time employment to work study. But, please, stay in touch as I move to Austin, TX in August!
