Help Alyssa financially survive her CSF Leak

Hi, I'm Alicia and my best friend (chosen sister) of over 30 years has been fighting a debilitating illness for about a year. Alyssa is an independent and active woman, whom has worked continuously since she was 16. She even bought her own house in 2019.

Suddenly in July of 2021 she started to experience eye pressure, partial seizures, vertigo, and the inability to stand. For months she was bounced around the healthcare system, trying (and failing) to figure out what was wrong with her. At one point they actually had her on medication that made her symptoms so bad that she could barely get out of bed, or handle light, for 3 months.

Through multiple invasive spinal procedures, they finally figured out that she has a CSF Leak. This was most likely caused by her very recent diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. On top of that she was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardic Syndrome, which is likely secondary to the CSF leak. One of the only specialists is located at Duke University, but they cannot even get her in for months.

This whole time Alyssa has been unable to preform every day functions like cleaning, driveing, or even walking for any extended period of time. So of course she's unable to go to the job that she has had for 10 years.

Thankfully she had quite the saving built up, but at this point it has been depleted. Now she is in fear of how to pay her basic bills, with hospital bills building up on top of it. The trip to North Carolina will be on her dime also.

Being independent, Alyssa has never really been one to ask for help. Right now, it is needed. Any assistance would be much appreciated, and would help take one major stress off her shoulders so she can focus on getting healthy.
