Alyssa Delgado’s Recovery and Rehabilitation

My name is Shari Voce and I am a friend of the Claudio Family. Joe’s 21 year old daughter, Alyssa, was involved in an unbelievably horrible automobile accident and needs the support of the community—near and far.

Alyssa was in an accident Monday morning, March 18th…she hit the guard rail on a turn on Highway 31. She was airlifted to MUSC and was on life support for the first three day. She has 5 broken ribs, 2 punctured lungs, with a chest tube—multiple fractures in her neck, a broken forearm, and a broken spine in half at the LT8 T9.

By some miracle, she will walk again.

She has a year-long recovery to get back to 100%. The Surgen said in the 1,000’s of spine surgeries he has done, she is the only one to ever walk away with an injury like this. 12 Screws and plates to repair her spine.

For everyone who knows and loves Alyssa, this recovery time will be long, intense and challenging. The doctors are optimistic that she will make a full recovery but until that time, bills will still need to be paid, work will be missed and support, love and prayers will be desperately needed.
