Alyssa and Jared are expecting their first little girl on August 25th 2019. Her pregnancy started out as a normal healthy pregnancy. They were able to experience their first ultrasounds, find out they were expecting a girl, and they were as happy as could be. Alyssa started to not feel great, getting light headed and not feeling "normal". She went to her 27 week appointment with her doctor to do routine blood work. When her blood work came back the doctors were worried they had a wrong readings. She then went back the next day to do the blood work again. This is when they sent her straight to UMASS.
On May 31st Alyssa and Jared had life changing news. They found out Alyssa has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. With having a rare condition while pregnant the doctors need to find the best way for treatment to keep both Alyssa and her unborn daughter healthy.
Alyssa and her baby girl begin chemotherapy together on June 5th. She will be in the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy and during all her treatments. They will not be doing home anytime soon, as the baby and Alyssa need constant monitoring.
She is fighting an uphill battle and we want to help support Alyssa, Jared, and their baby girl as much as we can.

This is hard for me to share, but I think it's important for many of you to know. Friday May 31st, 2019 started out as any other day... and quickly turned into a day that has changed my life forever. As many of you know I'm about 7 months pregnant with a sweet lil girl, and on Friday I was sent to UMASS for what my doctors and I had hoped were some faulty blood tests. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. A few hours went by and I was quickly and unfortunately diagnosed with Leukemia. None of this feels real yet, but it is and it's scary, and this girl and I are going through chemotherapy together. There are so many of you I love and care about and want you to be aware of what's going on or why I haven't reached out. Keep us in your thoughts, I need them all. I am so grateful for those who have been by my side and I have an amazing support system, truly. It's a long road ahead, but I have faith her and I can do this. Love you all.
