Battling Stage IV Cancer While Pregnant-Alyssa & Addi

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Amanda Kincade. My husband Adam and I are so grateful you are here. Our daughter, Alyssa was just 20 weeks pregnant with her first baby when she was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer- specifically called Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma germinal center B-cell like-lymphadenophy (retroperitoneal/esophageal mass. (DLBCL)

Let me take you back to Tuesday, June 10th, when our beloved daughter Alyssa received a diagnosis that no one ever expects—Cancer! The actual name is "Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma" —a fast-growing and aggressive form of cancer. To make this even more heartbreaking and complex, Alyssa is 5 months pregnant with her first baby, a precious little girl named Addison (Addi), due in October.

Until now, life had been full of joy and promise for Alyssa, her fiancé Zac and our whole family. If you personally know us, you know that family is EVERYTHING! Alyssa had a new job in Clovis so she left Laguna and moved back into our home with us. Zac is still working in the Bay Area and was hoping to move back to Clovis soon. Zac and Alyssa just purchased their first home and have started the building process.

Our daughter Alyssa, just turned 27 in May has always been the picture of health—vibrant, full of energy, and always putting others first. She’s the kind of person who makes everyone feel like her best friend—loyal, kind, hilarious, and fiercely loving.

But everything changed in an instant. And let me tell you, Never in a million years would I think I would be writing this.

Doctors discovered a rapidly growing tumor wrapped around Alyssa’s esophagus and stomach. Because of the tumor’s size and speed, there was no time to wait—she had to begin chemotherapy immediately, despite being 20 weeks pregnant. The plan as of right now is to keep baby Addison inside her mama until there is a safe point to deliver her. At that point, chemo will need to be paused in order to deliver baby Addi early. Chemo will then resume once Alyssa has healed from childbirth.

This journey is incredibly hard—emotionally, physically, and financially. The path ahead will and can include high-risk treatment, extended hospital stays, a complex birth, and a newborn in the middle of it all. Of course Alyssa will be unable to work due to her health.

We are humbly asking for your help to ease the burden for Alyssa during this unimaginable time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help cover:
• Medical bills and treatment not covered by insurance
• Travel and lodging for out-of-town care if needed
• Baby Addison’s delivery and care
• Day-to-day living expenses so Alyssa will not have to worry about work at this time.
•And most importantly so Alyssa can focus on healing and staying strong for baby Addison without the stress of any financial burden.
• There are too many “unknowns” and that is why we are just trying to be prepared. With everyone asking “what can we do” we thought this would be another way you could help support Alyssa’s journey and any needs.

If you’re unable to donate, please keep Alyssa, Addi, and our family in your prayers. We believe in miracles. We believe in hope. And we believe that Alyssa and Addison will be a living testimony of God’s power and the strength of love and community.

From the bottom of our broken hearts, thank you.
Love, two parents who would do absolutely anything in the world to get their daughter everything she needs to be well!
