On Saturday January 23 while working her final shift at Sunset Grill, Alyssa Chilcoat unexpectedly passed out and went into full cardiac arrest. She is 27 weeks pregnant with her and her husband Jared’s first child, Hayden. She is currently in the cardiovascular ICU at St. Luke’s on the plaza. She was initially on a respirator and was kept sedated, but since then she has been extubated and is breathing on her own. They currently do not have a definitive diagnosis for what caused the cardiac arrest and she may be facing multiple weeks in the hospital quite possibly in the ICU. Neither she nor her husband Jared are able to work at this time as Jared is spending every day with her in the ICU. This is a very difficult time for our entire family, as Alyssa is not only facing severe cardiac issues, but also memory loss and confusion. They are facing exorbitant medical costs even prior to the birth of their son.
