Alyson's Army-Battling Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
It's been a day...but tomorrow will be better.
After receiving some of the worst news that one can hear, these were the words that one of my most dear friends said to me. If you know Alyson, then you know that no one has more optimism, a better sense of humor, or a bigger heart.
On Oct 12th, 2021, Alyson was initially diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer. A rare type of breast cancer that only 1-6% of women get. This cancer diagnosis, unfortunately, wasn't her first. When she was only 23, Alyson went through 13 rounds of chemo to treat Hodgkins Lymphoma. She then married her best friend, Brandon Haugen, and together they had two wonderful boys, Blake and Caleb.
To beat cancer once is incredible; to be diagnosed again, this time with something different, was unexpected and heartbreaking. Through her four months of chemo, mastectomy, radiation, and all the trials along the way, Alyson has never wavered in her optimism, drive to fight, or faith in God.
Alyson's breast cancer was re-categorized as Inflammatory Breast Cancer Stage 4 and has spread to her bones. But she's not done fighting! The next battle will begin with enrolling in a clinical trial specializing in this rare type of cancer at another medical institution.
I am just one member of the large group that is Alyson's Army, and while this beautiful family would never dream of doing a GoFundMe for themselves, we would like to do one on their behalf.
Any sized donation would be greatly appreciated to assist with their financial burden. All funds will go directly to Alyson and her family to help with medical costs, travel expenses, a much-anticipated trip to Disney, and any other needs their family may have.
On behalf of Alyson and Brandon, all of their friends and family, thank you for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown over the past few months.
It's been a day...but tomorrow will be better.
