Alyson Swearingen’s Medical Expenses
Donation protected
After discovering that her breast cancer had spread to her spine, Alyson was told she needed surgery to remove the tumor that was pressing against her spinal cord, causing paralasys below the waist.
Recovery, therapy and lots of prayer, Alyson continues to get stronger and make slow, steady improvements. She has a long way to go, but she has never been afraid of hard work. She was fortunate enough to be admitted to TIRR Memorial Herman, one of the premier facilities for spinal cord injuries. After several weeks there, she came home, which was both exciting and scary. Lots of modifications and adjustments had to be made to accomadate her wheel chair. She came home in a loaner power chair until her’s could be built.
She continues cancer treatment at Houston Methodist Hospital and rehab 4 days a week at TIRR outpatient for the paralysis.

Asking for help is not an easy thing to do, but so many friends and family have asked how they can help. So this GoFundMe account was created to help offset the many costs that insurance does not cover.
Things like a wheelchair accessible van, in-Home care givers, ramps into the house,
a wheelchair chair that can roll into an accessible shower, an powerchair that allows her to be in a standing position (the health benefits are numerous), and other one-time handicap accessible expenses.
Thank you for all your support, prayers and kind words.
