Alyse's Breast Cancer Fight

Donation protected
On January 5th I received a call that I never thought I would receive from my sister, Alyse Davis. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the very young age of 33, we believe its stage 1 possibly 2 depending on her biopsy results. Alyse will try her best to workdays she’s not feeling sick but inevitably she will have a loss of income, medical bills, and other needs. Any money generously donated will go towards her medical bills and monthly bills to make up for her loss of income.

Alyse will complete 6 rounds of chemo. Her first round begins TODAY, Wed March 6th. She’s young and otherwise healthy so the doctors are “giving her everything they have.” Following chemo she will undergo a double mastectomy and then her reconstructive plastic surgery will come soon after that. After surgery she will receive infusions for another year and chemo medication for the next 5 years.

As many of you know Alyse married her soul mate (Gennaro) May of last year with hopes to start growing their family. Sadly, while Alyse is on her chemo meds over the next 5yrs she will not be able to conceive or carry a child. This news to Alyse & Gennaro was more devastating than the cancer itself.

Through all of this we did have some great luck, our family friend Christine O’Malley works at Penn Medicine and was essential in helping Alyse get in with the very best Drs at Penn. Meg Brown stepped up and helped us start a meal train/support website. Thank goodness for great friends!

Alyse will try her best to workdays she’s not feeling sick but inevitably she will have a loss of income, medical bills, and other needs.

Alyse is in great spirits and ready to take this head on. Even though she’s gone through so much already it is incredible how strong and uplifting her spirits have been. Alyse wants to thank all of you for your calls, texts, cards, flowers, and words of encouragement as she starts this journey.

This will forever change the way we look at life. This is just a roadblock to get through and Alyse is determined to overcome this challenge and BEAT breast cancer. Alyse & Gennaro couldn’t do this without all of your support ❤️
