Enduring the Challenges of My Journey
Greetings,
My journey on the path to become a Physician began when my grandmother's life was ending. My grandmother was the glue that held our family together. Even in her elderly age she was always the first to reach out if anyone was in distress.
My grandmother diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) and within a few weeks she passed away. What was surprising was the illness rapid progression. CHF is a treatable condition that could be stabilized under medical management. However, my own grandmother had to face the consequences, due to lack of vigilant monitoring.
Due to the fact I want to prevent deaths due to treatable illnesses I began medical school at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. The journey has not been easy but I managed to complete the first 2 years of basic sciences successfully despite the financial strain. I have worked and raised funds but I’ve still come up short. I am in need of 30,000 to continue, which is part of the 100,000 that I need to finish medical school.
After I have completed medical school I hope to come back to Chicago to help make a difference in the hospital as well as the community. I see that many of Chicago’s youth possess great potential but lack the knowledge of how to apply it. I hope to direct Chicago’s youth towards a better future by setting up mentorships in which they can be paired with Doctors ,Lawyers , Engineers and other individuals that could offer guidance.
