Always Augsburger - Help us have our Baby Augs

Hi Friends. Hello Family.

Some of you may already know, some of you may have suspected it, or some of you may have no idea, but we have been trying to start our family for 7 years now. From the moment we met, on a "blind" date in a coffee shop, we knew our forever was sitting across the table. The thought of having our own little Augs or little Paz running around was all we could think about! A little ginger baby was in our dreams and in our prayers every night. We couldn't wait to give our parents a grandbaby to SPOIL rotten and gush over. The years began to pass and the excitement and daydreaming started to turn into confusion and fear. Then sadness. Then anger. Every month we would experience that jarring shift from optimism and hope to drowning in tears. Feeling like failures again and again. After 4 years of trying on our own, we decided to put our pride aside and go get medical guidance.

 

Years of different doctors, different methods, same negative result. We have been unsuccessful in our journey thus far. We've been on an incredibly emotional rollercoaster ride with our doctor for 3 years filled with scans, medicines, blood tests, needles ( LAUREN HATE NEEDLES), hormones, supplements, and way too many tears for two people to cry. We have gone through many procedures with the hopes of success, but to no avail. BUT, we have finally come to the decision with our doctor that In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is our best option.

 

As you also know, Lauren is a teacher and Jake an artist. Jacob always says, "We are the richest people I know." He has never been more correct. Well, a close second is the time he said Lauren was right about something.. But, we are so rich with love. Love for and from one another, from our families, from our friends, from our neighbors. We are surrounded by it and covered in it. But, unfortunately our doctor said she couldn't accept payment in the form of love. Which would have made her the coolest doctor we know, but she's still really great.

 

All that being said, we are so humbly asking for help. This has been one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. We have prayed and prayed about this and we are both very stubborn. But, stubbornness can kick the bucket right now. We do not have the money for IVF. In speaking with our doctor, the total round about costs would be about $20,000. We know things are crazy in the world right now, but even just the smallest bit of help goes toward the possibility of a baby Augs. We are asking with broken hearts but hopeful thoughts for your help. We love all of you more than you know.
