On 19th July, I’ll be taking on a challenge like no other – abseiling 150 feet down Liverpool Cathedral, free-hanging from above the Great West Door – all in memory of a very special little boy.
I'm doing this in honour of my second cousin’s beautiful baby son, Archie, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) at just four months old. Tragically, Archie passed away just two months before his second birthday.
To honour his memory and support others facing similar battles, Archie’s parents, Alex and Anita, have created a charity called the Always, Archie Foundation. Their mission is to support families whose children are being treated for cancer, helping to ease the emotional, physical, and financial burden that comes with such a devastating diagnosis.
The charity provides practical support like food vouchers, assistance with hospital parking costs, and - when health allows - funding for special experiences that families can enjoy together.
All funds raised go directly to the Oncology Ward at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, where Archie received his care.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference to families in crisis.
Please note: donations are made in Australian dollars. $2 AUD is roughly equivalent to £1 GBP.
Thank you so much for your support – it means more than you know.
