Alvin's Journey to Safety and Self-Discovery

My name is Alvin and I turn 17 in a month. I plan on taking a cross-country trip from the east coast to the west coast to leave my family and start my life. I recently had a housing situation that fell through, and I had to move away from my home. It was heart shattering. To be in a place where I have always felt unsafe, judged, and completely alone.

I am transgender and have been out to my family for almost 6 years. They are not supportive and have only contributed to my deteriorating mental health for so long. My household is so toxic, everyday is a battle to stay alive, but I truly want to do it. I really want to start my journey to bettering myself and becoming my authentic self. I have a bit of money saved up, but not enough to support the cross-country trip yet. Any help is life-saving, whether it’s money, thoughts, or sharing this story.

I want to feel safe and loved, and my home on the west coast is the best place I have ever been. Thank you for reading :)
