Alvaro needs our help! Alvaro Montes De Oca is not only an incredible chef, but he’s also the dad of a 15-month-old and a kind, thoughtful, very hardworking human. An import from Monterrey, Mexico, Alvaro is the creative genius and head chef behind Ubuntu’s Mexican creations that have been on the menu.
Alvaro severely broke his ankle and foot a few weeks ago. He has had surgery to put in plates and screws and is facing a long recovery. Not only has been told that he won’t work for at least 3 months, he has also been warned that he may continue to have lifelong issues walking. He and his family need support to help him take time off to heal and allow him to get back on his feet and walking.
We are watching him struggle to look after his daughter, while his partner Fernanda goes back to work part-time. We see him hopping on one-foot cooking, cleaning, and carrying his daughter when he should be resting.
Please donate to help Alvaro so he can take the time off he needs to heal, get physiotherapy and get childcare. If we have 150 people pay $100 we will reach our goal. Of course, anything is welcome and will help support him through this difficult time.
