My name is Monica Munoz Jimenez and I am the wife of Alvaro Jimenez. On January 27, 2020, as our country was going through a pandemic crisis, we were given the most devastating news of our lives. My husband Al, the father of our 5 children, and the one who was strong as can be was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Not only was it Stage 4, but it had metastasized to other areas of his body. Doctors said surgery was not an option so Al began infusion chemotherapy on February 13, 2020 and was followed by chemotherapy pills for the next 14 days. This treatment continued for 2 weeks straight, with 1 week of rest and treatment would start all over again. Al did this for 14 months with excruciating pain, nausea, and hospital stays. He has always been in good spirits and has not given up hope. On May 4, 2021 Al was admitted into the hospital very dehydrated, fever, and a very bad stomach pain and would stay there for the next 10 days. As you watch someone you love go through a very bad illness and you feel helpless is just unexplainable. As I sat and listened to every doctor that came to the room to tell him what my husband wanted to do instead of the doctors saying they will try what it takes, just told me what no one wants to hear, there is nothing more they can do, but give him meds to make him comfortable. How can that be, they are saying go home with your family and take care. Really, that’s it! I could not let the kids go through this. Al is currently in hospice and continues to regain his strength despite his diagnosis. Since chemotherapy is no longer an option for him we have decided to try alternative treatments, which will give him more time to live with us and cleanse his body of all the bad chemicals used over the past year. The treatment center I would love to send him to is Hope For Cancer in Mexico. Since treatments are really expensive and can cost between $25,000 to $50,000. I am asking for your help to make it possible. Al has always been and continues to be a generous and loving person. I hope you will help him continue his life to the fullest by getting him to the Hope for Cancer Center as soon as possible. Thank you, continue to pray, and God bless you.
