Prognosis: Althea experienced a stroke caused by a brain bleed on the left side of her brain. She has paralysis on her right side but thankfully retained the full ability to talk. Prior to the stroke, Althea’s mobility was deteriorating from a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis. This recent stroke has exacerbated her condition.
The next step towards recovery is intensive physical therapy, but it is very expensive.
How You Can Help: Althea needs your help in several ways, but the most immediately need is funding for intense physical therapy, including a 15-day stay in a rehab center. Currently, Althea is not insured but vigorously working on becoming insured within the next few weeks. If insured, her level of therapy will more than likely require a hefty co-pay. She needs to start physical therapy immediately, but the funding is not available. Stroke recovery therapy is time sensitive, expensive, and must begin once Althea is released for physical therapy (possible scheduled release – Wednesday, May 19, 2021). Please help Althea restore her mobility and productivity within this small recovery window by selecting the “Donate” button below.
Donations: The initial funding campaign is dedicated to Althea’s rehab center stay and long-term physical therapy which will commence after her rehab. Once the other medical bills are determined, we will adjust the funding goal.
Meanwhile, the Cooper Family have come together to raise funds internally to minimize outside sourcing. We appreciate all that you can and will do above and beyond our efforts.
