David needs our help! After six rounds of chemotherapies and two rounds of radiation, the local doctors have nothing else to offer. So, friends & family are in full mode seeking out alternative therapies and clinical trials. We want David & Jennie to be ready for funds when something is found. Here's David's story...
David and Jennie were married on November 24, 2019. During their engagement, David was dealing with what he and the doctors thought were hemorrhoids. Roughly three weeks after their wedding day (12-10-19), they got the news...Colon/Rectal Cancer! Due to the location of the tumor and its growth, he was forced to undergo a permanent colostomy. He has undergone several surgeries since then including a hernia surgery. Just this last week, he underwent his last pallative radiation surgery to alleviate pain in the spine and a thoracentesis removing approximately 1300 cc of fluid from the lungs. David's cancer is defined as Adenocarcinoma. It has invaded most of his body at this point.
As you can imagine, with the rising medical bills and the extra needs (special food, bedding, etc.) required trying to fight this cancer, David & Jennie could use our help. And, when that alternative therapy comes along, we want them to have the funds to travel where they need to go.
We all know David as a loyal friend, a heart full of love and compassion, a brilliant mind willing to help anyone and an avid volunteer to the Hemophilia Community. David was diagnosed as an infant and, with his mom, Sean volunteered his entire life. In addition, David's passion was to educate school staff, and nursing students, and he was consistently mentoring young hemophilia patients and their families.
I asked David about his bucket list. He added that he has been a fortunate guy...was able to finally take a cruise with his wife which was a wedding gift given by Jennie's grandma. He also fulfilled a lifelong hunting trip provided by a really good friend. His only desire was to make sure Jennie was supported. He also would like to be able to fund an overlooked therapy should one become available. Now it's time to help David! Thank you!
