Israeli soldiers have continued conducting night raids on homes in Hassan’s village for weeks - detaining men, terrifying families, and causing lasting trauma.
Hassan’s rented apartment— by the main road — has been raided repeatedly. During one raid, a gun was pointed at his 8-year-old son. When Hassan protested, he was detained, beaten and hospitalized. After another raid his son, who has a heart condition, needed medical attention.
Why we are raising funds
Thanks to your previous donations, Hassan has completed the foundation, walls and concrete roof on a three-room house on family land, which he has begun to farm, with irrigation from the cistern we helped him dig. The land is far from the main road, making him less of a target for army raids, and it is in Area B, under Palestinian administrative control.
The house will save considerable rent; enable him to farm easily for a livelihood, and keep his children safe. We are now raising the final
NIS 45,000 (about $20,000 CAD or 15,000 USD) to finish the inside - including internal walls, electricity, plumbing and tiles, windows and security bars. As follows:
• NIS 9,000 – internal walls
• NIS 6,000 – electricity
• NIS 10,000 – flooring & bathroom tiling
• NIS 5,000 - plumbing fixtures
• NIS 15,000 – windows and security bars
Total needed: NIS 45,000 (approx. $20,000 CAD)
Your funds will help Hassan finally secure a safe home where his children can finally sleep safely. As Hassan says, “I want to change the air my children breathe. Right now, they are anxious, sleepless, and therefore often unable to attend school.”
About us
We are a group of Canadians and Europeans living in Jerusalem and abroad who are doing our best to help West Bank Palestinian families in crisis due to the war, military occupation and increased settler violence. Your funds enhance their safety and dignity, and create a path toward self-sufficiency - one family at a time.
All funds collected go directly to the family. Please help us finish Hassan’s home.
Your gift will help this Palestinian family surmount crisis, and become more self- sufficient, step by step.
* Please make note that donations to this campaign are in Canadian dollars, worth about 75% of US dollars.
